Our Journey

In the ’60s, a group of youngsters studying in different colleges came across a painful reality of the people reflecting on poverty, inequality, exploitation and sufferings. Looking at these aspects they decided to work for them and inspired by the exemplified lives of Gandhi and Vivekananda established Society for Education Welfare and Action (SEWA) Rural. Over the years, Bharuch district was considered as the worst district with low literacy, poverty, exploitation and absence of healthcare facilities. The institution set up their base camp near Jhagadia as the location was surrounded with rural – tribal people.
