About

Menaba Charitable Trust is established in 1991 by Shree Niruben Raval. It mainly works to Help and Support the Physically Challenged Girls. The Brain Child of this Trust is Manthan – Apang Kanya Seva Sankul; it is a Rehabilitation Center for Physically Challenged girls offering services totally free of cost. They run schools for their education and also provide Medical interventions so that they can develop self-confidence in these girls, to become self-supportive and need not to be dependent on society or family to survive. Working on these parameters, the organization simaltaneously is also looking forward to establish a rehabilitation centre for DISTRESSED WOMEN such as Divorced, Deserted, Old or Victims of Rape by providing some basic education and training via certain income generating activities.

Objective

The charter of Manthan – Menaba Charitable Trust has laid down the following objectives:

To open, establish and run institutions for the promotion of education, training and self-reliance of women.
To carry on activities for providing education and professional guidance to the handicapped individuals.
To provide help and assistance at the time of natural calamities, such as flood, cyclone, earthquake to the affected people.
To take up activities for development and education of children.
To provide medicines to the patients.
To undertake activities for conservation of the environment and to develop nurseries to grow and distribute plants.

Impact

On an average 325 Girls per Year are admitted here and so far 1575 Girls are Rehabilitated.

Brief History

Several years ago, India was a land where daughters were considered as a burden. People here believed that raising a girl was equivalent to raising a snake. In case, if someone ill-treats her, rape her or she couldn’t protect herself as nobody would be willing to help her earlier. But the tables have turned now! Niruben in her young age met a few girls facing such challenges and decided to set up a REHAB CENTRE FOR POLIO AFFECTED GIRLS. She immediately disposed of the GOLD given by her mother and resigned from a trouble free office of the Principal of a school. She had to face many sleepless nights before taking this decision, implementing the same, raising the resources, getting support but the firm unfailing determination, and the good fortune of such girls could give birth to Manthan in 1991.

How is your money spent?

Here, your Money will be utilized mainly to educate these girls, fulfil their food and daily needs. Apart from this, the remaining amount will also be used in conducting their expensive surgeries and medicines.

Key Points

This Organisation itself locates and approaches such physically challenged girls.
All the operation and treatment expenses of these girls are acquired from the Donations and Fund raised.
Not only they educate the girls till 12th in own school but also send them to a nearby town for further studies of college.

Activities

Education and Health Care are the two main activities carried by the organization as the main goal here is to nurture physically challenged girls and providing them an atmosphere to rehabilitate efficiently. To achieve this goal, they have set up Primary as well as Secondary School approved by Government in their own premises. Every year Health Checkup Camps are organized. Also, special camps are conducted to identify girls whose physical disability can be restored and the ones who are found good enough to undergo medical intervention.

In a case, If parents/relatives of these girls aren’t able to be present during the treatment or after the operation. The organization bears all the expenses of transport and make sure someone is there for them to take care and look after.

A staff of around 50 is present Full Time for welfare and education of these girls.
